Trainees Allowance Payments Transition to Bank-Based Starting 2025 - MoH

Public health training institutions are implementing a significant change in the way trainee allowances are paid. Starting in 2025, the payment of allowances will transition from the E-zwich Platform to a bank-account-based system, in collaboration with GCB Bank Plc. This move is part of a broader government initiative to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public services.

The transition aims to ensure that trainees receive their allowances directly into individual bank accounts. These accounts will be specifically designated for allowance payments and will be accessible via mobile banking. To facilitate this, eligible trainees must provide specific documents, including an ECOWAS Card, student ID, and a passport photo.

The Ministry of Health has scheduled a registration period from November 25th to December 8th, 2025, during which institutions will visit and register students. Trainees with existing GCB Bank accounts will be provided with a separate student account for allowance payments, while new accounts will be created for those without.

This initiative not only streamlines the payment process but also reduces the risk of fraud and ensures that trainees receive their funds promptly. It reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing public services and supporting the development of a skilled healthcare workforce.

The change is a positive step toward a more efficient and transparent system, benefiting both trainees and institutions alike.
