GES Secures Financial Clearance for Over 6,000 Teachers, November Salaries Expected

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a significant development for thousands of recently recruited teachers, confirming that financial clearance has been granted for the payment of their salaries.

In an official press release dated October 16, 2025, the Service stated that the clearance covers the remaining 6,249 teachers who were recruited in 2024 but had not yet been integrated into the government payroll.

This approval is a crucial step that allows the GES to finalise all administrative processes required to pay the affected staff. According to the release, the management of GES has committed to ensuring that all 6,249 teachers are placed on the mechanised payroll in time to receive their salaries starting from November 2025.

While the financial clearance from the government is set to expire on December 31, 2025, the GES has assured that it is working diligently to meet the November payroll target, effectively resolving the long-pending issue for the newly posted educators.

The GES management, in the statement signed by its Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, expressed gratitude to the affected staff for their "dedication" and reaffirmed its commitment to "facilitating timely and accurate salary payments."

This development will come as a major relief to the thousands of teachers who have been awaiting the regularization of their employment status and salary payments, bringing clarity and financial stability after months of uncertainty.
