Former TTAG President, H.E Soale Razak ~ "Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination To Be Incorporated Into The Final Examination Of Trainees From The Colleges of Education."

 


On Saturday, 21st June, 2025, I successfully brought my tenure as President of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana to an end. 

During the ceremony, I recounted some of the great challenges that confronted us including the strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association that threw the academic calendar out of gear among others.

But together with my team, we stood the test of time, and we built and make strides. Some notable achievements included;

1. Securing a temporary office space (Secretariat) for the activities of the Association in Accra, Ghana. 

2. Purchase of water Polytank to Savannah College of Education, Daboya

3. Payment of examination fees for thirty (30) teacher trainees in multiple Colleges of Education. 

4. Securing internship opportunities at T-TEL for teacher trainees to learn Ghanaian education policies, and general curricular. 

5. Successful in advocating for a review of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination to be incorporated into the final examination of trainees from the Colleges of Education. This implementation will start from 2026.

6. Sensitization activities in almost all the forty-seven (47) Public Colleges of Education in Ghana.

7. Organized  a very successful and innovative Maiden TTAG Pedagogy Challenge quiz for all Puclic Colleges of Education. 

8. Organized women empowerment workshop and skills training dubbed “Her Worth, Her World” Conference. 

9. Organized a GTLE workshop for teacher trainees and candidates for the licensure examination. 

10. Organized a graphic design initiative for interested teacher trainees virtually. 

11. Setting-up a seed capital fund for the construction of befitting permanent TTAG Secretariat for the Association. 

12. Organized statutory programmes like the 28th General Assembly at Tamale, the 29th Annual Delegates Congress at Hohoe. 

13. Organized in grand style, the TTAG Day celebrations to commemorate our gains and sensitize our membership. 

14. Developed a website for the activities of the association. 

15. Organized a workshop for the General Secretaries in all 47 Public Colleges of Education in Ghana. 

16. Strengthening stakeholders relations, an active representation of the Association in all engagements, media, etc. 

I would continue another day with some of the achievements we have collectively achieved as the 2024/2025 TTAG Administration. 

I wish to thank all our stakeholders, partners and teacher trainees who stood and supported this transformative journey. Special recognition to Transforming Teaching, Education & Learning - Ghana, Professor George K.T. Oduro, Prof. Samuel A. Atintono, Mr. Kparibo Ernest, Adama Fuseini Mohammed, and Jephthah Kwame Sefah. 

Let me also use this platform to call on my successors under the distinguished leadership of Divine Mabengban, to continue the good work and bring the progress of the association to the feat of the ordinary teacher trainee.
