‎C/R: Man arrested for killing girlfriend with concrete block in Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta ‎

 

‎A man in his late 30s has been arrested by the Awutu Jei-Krodua District Police Command for allegedly killing his girlfriend at Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

‎The deceased, identified as Sister Yaa, was found dead in a pool of blood, with a concrete block placed on her face.

‎According to police sources, the suspect, a resident of Oboman in the Ga South Municipality of Greater Accra, had reportedly visited his girlfriend to spend the night. The alleged killing occurred after she refused to have sex with him.

‎Reports gathered by Ghone News’ Yaw Boagyan indicate the suspect first inflicted cutlass wounds on her face before striking her head with the concrete block.

‎Speaking to the media, the chief of Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta and Ogyahene of the Awutu Traditional Council, Nai Achiene Acheampong Kuma, described the attack, saying, “He butchered his girlfriend before smashing her head with the block.”

‎The chief added that he immediately alerted the Jei-Krodua and Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Commands, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

‎The suspect is currently in police custody, while the body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary. Investigations are ongoing to confirm the deceased’s identity and notify her family.
