Teacher Trainees in the 47 Colleges of Education in Ghana is set to receive the upcoming payment for teacher trainees today. The total allowance is approximately GH₵980, with GH₵196 paid per month for five months.
This includes full payment for the first semester (January to April) and one month’s payment for the second semester.
The payment schedule covers five months, from January to April and one month in the second semester. The next payment will include July, August, and September. Trainees still have three months to be settled in the second semester.
President John Dramani Mahama has announced a new system where teacher trainee allowances will be managed through the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD).
This system aims to ensure timely and regular payments, providing financial stability for trainees. Although the new system has not been fully implemented, it reflects the government’s commitment to improving the financial support for teacher trainees.
