Second Successful Disbursement of Allowances for Teacher Trainees

The Student Loan Trust Fund in Ghana has successfully disbursed five months’ allowances for the first semester and one month of the second semester to teacher trainees across all 47 colleges of education who missed the early payment. This achievement follows a successful pre-audit process involving approximately 10,000 trainees.

Each trainee received a total of ₵1,000.00 instead of the¢980.00 calculated at ₵196 per month. The payment ensures that trainees can focus on their studies without financial strain.

To access their funds, trainees are encouraged to visit their nearest E-zwich vendor or bank, ensuring their Ezwich card is active and undamaged.

The pre-audit process played a crucial role in verifying the eligibility of trainees, allowing the Trust Fund to clear outstanding allowances efficiently.

The government efforts to continue paying teacher trainees allowance has not only supports the professional development of future teachers but also reinforces the government’s commitment to education and financial inclusion.

The successful disbursement is a positive step toward ensuring that teacher trainees have the resources they need to excel in their studies and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s education system.
