This article addresses the most frequently asked questions regarding the Teacher Trainees' Allowance in Ghana. If you are a student teacher or concerned stakeholder, here are the details you need to know.
1. How many months are due?
Currently, six (6) months of allowance are outstanding for payment. These allowances cover several academic periods and are awaiting full disbursement.
2. When will the allowance be paid?
The allowance is expected to be paid very soon. Stakeholders are actively working to ensure that disbursement begins once all necessary data is received and verified.
3. What is causing the delay?
The delay is primarily due to the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) not receiving complete data for Level 100 students from some colleges. Without this data, SLTF is unable to process payments for affected trainees.
4. Are Level 100 students included in the allowance?
Yes, Level 100 students are part of the allowance structure and will receive their payments once their colleges have submitted the required data to the SLTF.
5. Are Level 400 students receiving GHC 400 since they are not on a feeding grant?
No. Although Level 400 students do not benefit from the feeding component, the full amount of GHC 400 is not directly paid to them. The feeding component is sent to college management and is expected to be refunded later if not utilized.
6. Some trainees have not received certain allowances. Why?
This is often due to inconsistent or mismatched data. It is essential that your admission details match with your Ghana Card and Ezwich information. Any discrepancy can result in non-payment or delays in processing.
What should you do?
Check that your admission letter matches the name and details on your Ghana Card and Ezwich account.
Submit any updated or corrected information to your SLTF Coordinator at your college as soon as possible.
