2025 NPP Constituency Chairmen Conference in Kumasi with Powerful Message of Unity and Constitutional Clarity

Kumasi, 21st June 2025 – Former NPP General Secretary, John Boadu, was today honoured as a guest speaker at the 2025 Annual Conference of the NPP Constituency Chairmen Caucus of Ghana, held in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

The high-profile event drew some of the most influential figures within the New Patriotic Party, including H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, Hon. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Konadu Apraku, Hon. Boakye Agyarko, Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Chairman Wontumi, and several Members of Parliament.

Delivering a rousing and thought-provoking speech, John Boadu called for calm, unity, and respect for party structures. Addressing recent concerns surrounding the timing of the presidential primaries, he clarified:

“Article 13(1) of our Party’s Constitution mandates the National Council to set the date and venue for the election of the Presidential Candidate. Therefore, the National Council has acted within its constitutional powers. However, there are other important processes that must be completed before the said date. The upcoming Annual Delegates Conference will play a crucial role in facilitating those processes and may even determine whether the date set should be reviewed.”

John Boadu also expressed deep concern over the Party’s performance in the 2024 general elections, recounting that in some parts of the country, the NPP recorded zero and single-digit votes — a situation he described as painful and alarming.

“This is not a time for the Party to be celebrating or fighting among ourselves. We are not in good shape. We’ve become a laughing stock to the NDC, and if we don’t unite now and reposition the Party, we risk losing even more in 2028,” he cautioned.

His frank and heartfelt submission was met with thunderous applause, with delegates rising to their feet and chanting “Our Incoming National Chairman!” in unison.

John Boadu’s depth of knowledge, his constitutional clarity, and unwavering commitment to party unity struck a powerful chord with the audience, reminding many of his long-standing service and strategic insight.

As he exited the venue, an excited crowd of grassroots members surrounded his convoy, chanting his name and expressing renewed hope in his leadership to help rebuild and reposition the NPP for victory in 2028.
