A significant financial backlog has begun to clear for teacher trainees nationwide, as the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has successfully credited one month of outstanding arrears for the 2024-2025 academic year into beneficiary accounts worth ¢200.00.
The payment, confirmed by TTAG National Financial Controller on his social media handle, brings partial relief to trainees who have endured months of delay in receiving their stipends. The arrears have been deposited directly into the trainees' designated accounts, though notably, many beneficiaries have not received the customary SMS alerts from the SLTF notifying them of the transaction.
Beneficiaries are strongly encouraged to take their ATMs or E-Zwich cards to their respective banks or ATM points to physically check their balances and withdraw the funds.
The payment covers a broad spectrum of trainees. Beneficiaries include:
· Current trainees in Levels 200, 300, and 400 for the 2025/2026 academic year.
· Recent graduates who completed their training in the 2024/2025 academic year (last year, 2025).
The Student Loan Trust Fund is yet to issue an official public statement detailing the payment. For now, the message to teacher trainees is clear: proceed to your bank with your card to access the funds that have been silently credited. The move is expected to alleviate immediate financial pressures on trainees grappling with academic and personal expenses.
